Detoxifying and Purifying Voya Wrap
Sam Jones tried the Detoxifying and Purifying Voya Wrap at The St
Brides Spa Hotel, Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire
What they say
The natural detoxifying benefits of seaweeds combined with dry skin
brushing energise the body and increase the microcirculation of the
skin. This promotes the reduction of fluid and increases body
metabolism. Skin is left mineralised and hydrated.
What we say
The marine spa has been designed very much with the sea in mind.
Teetering on the cliff’s edge with panoramic views, a relaxation
lounge with floor-to-ceiling glass shields you from the elements, or
you can choose to relax in the outdoor hydro pool, filled with salt
water heated to body temperature, which has an infinity edge giving
the optical illusion of blending into the sea.
VOYA, originating from Sligo, Ireland, claims to be the world’s first
range of certified organic seaweed-based products, containing no harsh
chemicals but packed full of vitamins and nutrients to keep the skin
Laying on a heated bed, my body was dry brushed by my therapist Fay
before the seaweed product was applied. It smelled nothing like the
sea, and felt like a soft gel – not at all gritty.
The room was filled with the scents of lavender and lime, and after
being wrapped in fluffy towels and cocooned in a heated blanket, I was
treated to a fabulous head massage.
Warm oils were massaged into my scalp, providing a rich conditioner
for my hair. Utterly blissful.
After a quick shower, I was given the option of having a rich
moisturiser applied or to return to the thermal suite and apply it
myself later. I chose to indulge myself further so returned to the
Hydro pool before lunch.
I left with my skin feeling incredibly smooth and hydrated and two
days on it still feels wonderfully soft. A treatment definitely worth
